Open Source
Open Source Manifesto
Everything we've built at Fail Factory—and the skills we've built it with—comes from open source. Projects on GitHub, knowledge on wikis, and tutorials on YouTube have made it possible for us to learn, create, and grow. That's why open source sits at the heart of what we do.
Our focus is on empowerment and community: helping people bring their ideas to life, whether they build it themselves or with a little help from us. Open source works because of community, and it's where so many of us first learned new skills, shared ideas, and supported one another.
We strive to make all our work open source—at least as much as is possible while surviving end stage capitalism—so others can use it, improve it, and learn from it, keeping that cycle of building and sharing going.

Alleycat Asset Acquisitions
The Alleycat ecosystem represents our flagship open source initiative—a collection of interconnected projects designed to make hardware hacking more accessible and collaborative.
Alleycat Portable Data Node OS
The Alleycat PDN is born from decades of making, gaming, event going, and nerding out about cool tech. The hardware and accompanying software suite enables a highly customizable immersive experience in live event settings.
Alleycat Portable Data Node Hardware
This is the first implementation of the PDN OS for the Neotropolis Immersive Festival, and includes the 3D printable enclosure as well as schematics and PCB designs.
Data Collection & Player Stats
2025 marked our first year gathering comprehensive data about the game and our players. To celebrate this milestone, we created a personalized stats comparison webpage where users can explore their gameplay data.
